The blanket kit includes pre-measured and cut fleece with the Rotary special tag attached, a fringe-cutting template and instructions. All you provide is a pair of scissors!

If you live within 30 miles of Westerville we encourage you to pick up your kits at our workshop. Your kits will be ready for pickup 2-3 days after you place your order. We are open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday - Friday.

If you cannot pick up during those times, we can leave your order in our curbside donation bins so you can pick up at your convenience. Just let us know that you will pick up after hours in the Comments box when you place your order.

What NOT to do

Please keep in mind that you are creating a lasting gift for a child in foster care. The blanket you are making may become a child's cherished possession, comforting them for years. Please make your blanket as if it is a gift for someone you know and love.

Don't cut fringe on the side where the tag has been sewn. Follow the sample fringe that have been cut on 2 sides of the fleece. Tie knots about 1/2" from blanket edge to avoid bunching.

Don't cut fringe on the side where the tag is sewn - or the side opposite. Cut only on the 2 sides where sample fringe have been cut.

Our kits have tags pre-attached. When tags are cut in the correct length and location, you will not cut into the tag.

The selvedges (narrow, tightly woven borders on the ends of the fabric that prevent it from unravelling) have not been removed from this fleece, resulting in fringe with ends that aren't smooth. Please cut off the selvedges before you begin cutting fringe. This step is not necessary when you use an MVOB fleece kit. We remove the selvedges for you.

Please leave the tag's top line blank. "This Belongs to" is for the child who receives the blanket to enter their name. You sign after "Handmade by."

Your finished blanket should look like this one.

It is a flat rectangle without curved or bunched edges, is fringed on two opposite sides, and has one knot tied in each fringe.
