Thank you notes we have received . . .

We are always thrilled to hear from folks who advocate for children in foster care,
in Ohio and all over the U.S., after they have received blankets handmade by you, our Blanket Angels.

They write to tell us how much the blankets you make will mean to the children in foster care in their area, and we thought you'd like to read them, too!  We are blessed by your support!

I wanted to thank you very much for the blankets! We have received the items and already started to distribute them to students who are experiencing homelessness.
We are grateful for your continued support and contribution.

Homeward Bound Shelter, a program of Brighton Center in Newport, Kentucky, is a 24-hour emergency shelter location in Covington, KY, that provides a safe environment and residential treatment services for runaway, homeless, abused, neglected, and dependent youth ages 11-17. Homeward Bound Shelter is the only direct access emergency shelter for youth under 18 in Northern Kentucky.

Brighton Center staff member Kate Kassis wrote recently to thank us for the 25 blankets we donated to the youth living in Homeward Bound.

Thanks from Comfort Cases in Maine

Dear Jessica,

The cases of blankets from MVOB arrived about five days ago into my small shed in Hancock, ME, where we pack Comfort Cases for children experiencing foster care throughout the state. The blankets are beautiful and just what is needed to keep these kiddos warm on cold nights in Maine.

They are not just special for warmth. The caring that comes with your My Very Own Blanket is a clear message to the children that someone is thinking of them and wishing them well. This is so meaningful…especially during the transition into care.

Heartfelt thanks to you and all the people who made this special blankets.

From You to My Stuff Bags to Children in Foster Care

Dear Jessica and Blanket Angels,

Today, some lonely children will be smiling for the first time in a long while, because of you. Your generous contribution of beautiful blankets is helping the My Stuff Bags Foundation to provide new belongings, comfort and hope to children rescued from terrible abuse and neglect, and we can’t thank you enough.

We are so grateful that you have chosen to join the My Stuff Bags Foundation in sending a message of concern to the tens of thousands of children in America who enter crisis shelters and foster care with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.

A My Stuff Bag is filled with new “stuff” that offers the children tangible proof that others care and that they are worthy of love. A new blanket, stuffed animal, books, clothing or toys can make the transition into shelter care more comfortable, when sadness or fear is overwhelming.

Although we cannot replace all that these children have lost, we can offer each child a warm encouragement and a fresh start through our My Stuff Bags program. Thank you for making that possible.

President/CEO

Lisa, from Wayne County, Ohio Children Services, sent us this note after she picked up 30 blankets to share with the children they serve.

We added Wayne County to our list of organizations who receive quarterly shipments of blankets.

March, 2021.  Received from Chelsey B. at Erie County, Ohio Children Services after our Blanket Angel, Therese, delivered 59 blankets for the children in foster care who they serve.

Therese is "happily retired" and chooses a goal each year.  In 2020 she chose to make quilts for foster children.  She spent a lot of "COVID time" piecing tops and quilting, w
ith the help of her sister.  With donations from some of the members of her quilt group, North Ohio Star Quilt Guild, Therese was able to donate the 59 quilts.

Congrats on your work anniversary! It has been a joy to witness the appreciation on the faces of the children (and caregivers) as a result of you and your team's efforts. Thank you!
