Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints supports children in foster care in Texas and Florida4/26/2025 Texas (photos above and below): The Yorktown Branch Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints made its first two donations: 8 quilts and 2 afghans to Friends of DeWitt County Child Welfare Board in Cuero, Texas, and 9 quilts to the Court Appointed Special Advocates of South Texas. The group plans to make more quilts to deliver twice a year. We are very thankful for the contributions, current and planned, of this dedicated group from the LDS Church in Texas. Florida (photos below): A women’s organization within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints lived out their desire to serve others by making 79 fleece blankets and 2 quilts for children in foster care in their area.
The Valrico Ward Relief Society in Brandon, Florida, discovered MVOB on JustServe.org and hosted daytime and evening sessions for 28 Church members to come together and make the no sew fleece blankets. Some members made blankets at home. Event organizer Daphine told us, “We had a wonderful time making the blankets, and we enjoyed making new friends and visiting with old friends of all ages. Thank you for the idea.”
