Join us during MLA '26 to make "no-sew" fleece blankets for young people in foster care and in need!  There are 4 ways you can participate.  Choose the one that's best for you. Thank you for choosing to provide love and comfort to children and teens in foster care.

Ordering deadline:  April 17, 2026

1.  Attend the Conference and make a blanket. 
Order a blanket kit to make at the Conference.  Your blanket will be shipped to Milwaukee and be ready for you to pick up at the blanket-making event.  Click here to order.

Notes about ordering and shipping:  On the order form, indicate that your purchase is for the Medical Library Association event and indicate that you will make the blanket at the MLA event. Your kit will be shipped to a central location, but please enter your mailing address at checkout. It is used to validate your credit card. Your purchase will default to the standard free shipping option.

​2.  Sponsor a blanket for someone else to make. 
If you cannot attend the event, would you like to sponsor a blanket for someone else to make at the event?  A donation of $15.75 will sponsor one blanket kit.

How to sponsor:  To make your donation for one blanket kit, enter $15.75 in the Custom Amount box on the Donate page.  Please enter Medical Library Association in the Comments box so we can correctly identify your donation.

​3.  Make a "no-sew" fleece blanket at home.
If you cannot attend the event but would like to make a blanket and donate it in your community, order a blanket kit to be shipped to your home.  Order kit here. On the order form, indicate that your purchase is for the Medical Library Association event and indicate that you will make the blanket at home.

4. Craft a quilt or yarn blanket at home and bring it to the conference.
Are you a knitter, crocheter or quilter? Your finished, clean Material Quilts or Yarn Blankets can be donated in your community, or you can bring them to the MLA Blanket Making Party event!  Personalize your handmade blankets with a Special MVOB Blanket Tag.
