Parmelee Avenue Elementary School* 1338 E 76th Place Los Angeles CA 90001 Contact: Belinda Vargas, Student and Family Resources Navigator bxv5100@lausd.net Google voice number: 424-571-2388
*Ms. Vargas tells us about the children served by Parmelee Avenue Elementary School: Parmelee Avenue Elementary School is based in South Los Angeles, and our population is one that is comprised of low income, undocumented and under-served families. We have students who are out of the home and families who are currently homeless. We are in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles, and therefore our families do not qualify for many services that other areas do. Some of our families work 2 to 3 jobs to make ends meet and do not have the means to provide their children with essential things such as food, shoes, jackets, backpacks, etc. Despite the many barriers our families face, they are some of the most caring, helpful, and hardworking families I have come across. I am reaching out to your organization in hopes of collaborating with you to serve some of these families.
